Courtney Sale Ross Honorary Chair

Courtney Sale Ross has championed a transformation in education for the past 25 years. She recognized that preparing students and teachers to meet the challenges of the 21st century required a new education model. As Founder and Chair of Ross Institute and its laboratory Ross School, she conceived of the Ross Learning System — inclusive is its Spiral Curriculum, which will be published for wider use. Ross School students, grades PK-12, attend from over 20 countries. In addition, Ross Institute offers teacher professional development, convenes workshops, commissions research, and co-publishes books. Mrs. Ross has served as a board member or advisor at the Asia Society, New York University, Harvard Graduate School of Education, the Brain and Creativity Institute at the University of Southern California, the Committee on U.S./China Relations, and the United Nations Association of the United States of America among others. Recently, she was Honorary Chair and member of the Scientific Committee for the Pontifical Academy of Science Workshop: Children and Sustainable Development: A Challenge for Education and the recipient of the inaugural UCLA Global Citizen Award. Prior to her philanthropy, Mrs. Ross was an award-winning documentary filmmaker and was conferred an Honorary Doctorate from her alma mater: Skidmore College.
